Business Decision Making – From Stuck to Taking Action (Part 2)

June 4 @ 9:30 am - 11:30 am

Overview

An online workshop to help you test your decision, check the logic and numbers, and turn it into a simple, confident implementation plan.

You must be based in Oxfordshire and have completed Enterprise Oxfordshire’s Business Support Tool since the 1st of November 2025 to attend this event. If you purchase a ticket without completing this, your ticket will be cancelled. Business Support Tool – Enterprise Oxfordshire Business

Have you got a decision in mind – but you’re not sure if it really stacks up?

This live, interactive workshop is Part 2 of a two‑part series designed to help small business owners and entrepreneurs move from uncertainty to clear, confident execution.

In Part 2, we focus on testing your chosen option, checking the logic and basic numbers, and turning it into a practical implementation plan with checkpoints and an “escape path” if things don’t go as expected.

Who is it for?

This workshop is ideal for:

  • Small business owners and founders who have a decision in mind, but want to test it before committing.
  • Entrepreneurs who want a simple way to check the impacts and numbers behind their decisions.
  • Managers in small organisations who need to plan and execute decisions with more confidence.

You’ll get the most from Part 2 if you either:

  • Attended Part 1: Why Decisions Get Stuck – Understand and Simplify, or
  • Come with a specific decision and a preferred option already in mind.

What we’ll cover in Part 2

In this workshop, you will:

  • Assess the likely impacts of your decision on customers, cash, capacity, and risk.
  • Identify the key assumptions that must be true for your decision to work.
  • Do simple “back‑of‑the‑envelope” checks on the numbers – no complex spreadsheets required.
  • Learn why focusing on “one thing brilliantly” often beats doing three things badly.
  • Build a one‑page implementation plan for your decision, including first actions, owners, and timelines.
  • Design checkpoints, success measures, and an “escape path” so you can adjust course if needed.

You’ll use structured templates and get the chance to discuss your plan with others in a practical, supportive environment.

What you’ll leave with

By the end of Part 2, you will:

  • Have tested the logic and basic numbers behind your decision.
  • Have a simple, realistic implementation plan you can start immediately.
  • Know when and how you’ll review progress – and what you’ll do if things aren’t working.
  • Feel more confident about making a decision and actually executing it.

Format and what to expect

  • Live online workshop (Zoom).
  • 2 hours of interactive input, exercises, and discussion.
  • Designed for non‑financial specialists – we keep the maths practical and accessible.
  • You’ll be encouraged to bring a real business decision to work on throughout the session.

How Part 2 connects to Part 1

This workshop builds directly on Part 1: Why Decisions Get Stuck – Understand and Simplify. In Part 1, you clarify the decision and simplify your options; in Part 2, you test your chosen option and turn it into action.

You can attend Part 2 on its own if you already have a clear decision and preferred option, but we strongly recommend attending both parts for the full experience.

This Workshop is being delivered by:

Phil Curtis, a specialist in transforming businesses towards a high-performance culture with a sustainable future. He has a toolkit for growth, change, and sustainability, built through 30 years leadership in global companies, small and large, across multiple sectors. His approach will help you to simplify your thinking, prioritise, and make good decisions that drive long-term success.
