Oxford StemTech From Start-Up to Expansion at Heyford park Innovation Centre
We are thrilled that Oxford StemTech, a start-up based at Heyford Park Innovation Centre are graduating to larger premises due to recent growth and business success.
The journey of Oxford StemTech began with the vision of its founders, Zameel Cader, Galbha Duggal and Satyan Chintawar, who embarked on their entrepreneurial venture in September 2020 at Heyford Park Innovation Centre
What started as a team of two has steadily grown over the years, with the addition of a new team member annually, resulting in a current total of five members. Now, as they prepare to move into a bigger space, Oxford StemTech is poised for further expansion. The company plans to continue its recruitment efforts even after the move, ensuring sustained growth and development.
The graduation to a larger space is scheduled for April, marking a significant milestone in Oxford StemTech’s journey. This transition is made possible through the collaborative efforts of our Laboratory Supervisor at Heyford Park Innovation Centre, Karanjit Das, who has supported the new lab fit out, and Ania Ferenc from the Oxford Science Park.
Karanjit commented: “Assisting in the design and setup of Oxford Stem Tech’s new lab space at Oxford Science Park has been really fulfilling – witnessing their progression and now their graduation to larger premises due to their success and growth is a great testament to our collective efforts in fostering innovation.”
The move signifies not only the company’s growth but also its integration into the vibrant ecosystem of innovation and research in Oxford.
The decision to initially set up operations at Heyford Park Innovation Centre was driven by several factors. The prime location and easy accessibility of Heyford Park Innovation Centre were key considerations. Moreover, as a start-up, the opportunity to access shared lab facilities at an innovation centre was immensely beneficial for Oxford StemTech’s early-stage growth. Beginning with shared labs, the company later transitioned to having its own dedicated lab space along with an office, reflecting its evolution and progress.
Galbha stated: “We chose Heyford Park Innovation Centre due to its location, and considering we are a life science-based company and a start-up, it was absolutely beneficial for us to be in an innovation centre with access to shared lab facilities to help grow our business.”
As Oxford StemTech moves into a larger space, it is poised to accelerate its research and development efforts in stem cell technology powering precision medicine. We wish them every success in the future and feel privileged to have played a part in their story.
