SUMMARY:Net Zero Chemical Manufacturing - Unlocking the power of biotechnology to transform the UK chemicals industry webinar
DESCRIPTION:About the event\nThe Bioeconomy Cluster Builder and Chemical Industries Association are delighted to host this webinar dedicated to exchanging knowledge and building connections between the chemical manufacturing and industrial biotechnology (IB) communities. \nBio-based chemicals have the potential to significantly reduce the environmental impact of chemical manufacturing. By decreasing our dependence on fossil fuels\, the conversion of biomass to chemicals\, including utilisation of problematic by-products and waste\, helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions\, supporting our journey to Net Zero. Furthermore\, the adoption of bio-based alternatives offers sustainable\, resilient supply chains which recognise increasing consumer demand for superior environmental performance. \nTo drive this transition\, it is recognised that significant research and innovation are required across the chemicals industry. The widespread adoption of industrial biotechnology offers numerous pathways to support this shift\, with collaboration and knowledge sharing critical to unlocking transformational opportunities. \nJoin us on 14th September to learn how biotechnology is transforming global chemical manufacturing and to discover how the Bioeconomy Cluster Builder can help you connect with the right people and resources to support your ambitions in this area. \nThe Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC) is running a dedicated feasibility funding call to complement this event. Grants of up to £10k are available to support industry led collaborations with Scottish academics. SUMMARY:Exit Right 2023 - An incredible Journey: from start-up to exiting to a global pharmaceutical
DESCRIPTION:Exit Right – an expert-led events for entrepreneurs \nExit Right 2023 is a free expert-led\, must-attend event series for any entrepreneur looking to drive their business from start-up to exit. \nFollowing on from the successful 2022 Exit Right events\, this year’s talks are from founders and directors who have successfully exited their businesses as well as M&A experts. \nFounders will tell you first hand about their exit journey – what went well and what didn’t go quite so well. You will find out the best strategies to employ and what it takes to be one of the successful 10% of businesses that exit – whether it’s through an acquisition or IPO. \nWe also have M&A experts who will give you the inside track on what purchasers are really looking for when they are buying companies. \nIt is never too early to hear how others did it and to start planning an exit strategy for your start-up or SME. \nThe events are aimed at founders\, directors and senior management of start-ups and SMEs. Each talk is 45 minutes\, followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. \nFor those who want to meet the speakers\, events will be held at The Oxford Trust’s Wood Centre for Innovation in Headington (OX3 8SB). Each event will be followed by drinks and networking at the Centre. The event series starts on Thursday 25th May and will run every two weeks. Start time is 17.30 at the end of the working day. Events will also be livestreamed. \nThe series is sponsored by Marks & Clerk and organised in partnership with The Oxford Trust\, Oxford Innovation Space and Barclays Eagle Labs\, Oxford. \nFor more information and to register see:  https://www.wcfi.co.uk/exit-right/
